Re: 2010 Jan-March 31 Performance/access/issue (whine) thread.

The tiny vertical alignment is there so the Title can wrap around a lot of times and make it hard to read and find things. May be the person doing the web pages doesn't have a nice big flat screen to work with. Or it's a contest to see which Title uses the most lines. :)

I find that using the Find (Crtl + F) feature in Firefox helps a whole lot trying to sort through those titles.

Response from HP:

Dear Torsten,

HP has received your feedback and has noted your concerns regarding the need for html format support and a more robust sort capability.

Moving forward, we'll try to put the publication date in the title field for documents that don't have version numbers embedded in their titles. This way, they can be more easily identifiable.

Sincerely,
...

I'm not totally happy with this ... :-(

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 2010 Jan-March 31 Performance/access/issue (whine) thread.

Shalom,

To ITRC users,

I'm not updating this thread again until month end. Travelling, deadlines, lots of stuff.

To HP,

Talk to users of docs.hp.com and other stuff prior to rolling out upgrades. Thats called good sustomer service btw.

To ITRC performance team.

This site has performed very well for me the past six months. I can not recall any major problems. Keep up the good work.

Re: 2010 Jan-March 31 Performance/access/issue (whine) thread.

Hi:

With regard to the BSC documentation rant I started last month (above); and for those of you who haven't seen Michael Leu's Greasemonkey script; see:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1359692

Thank you Michael, and thank you to a friend who pointed me to his "fix"! I hope the BSC webmasters take note.

Regards!

I made a second script that lets you sort the tables in the BSC. See the link above.

It seems that forums13 is down and forums11 is very slow.
And I can't get to https://h20392.www2.hp.com either.

Re: 2010 Jan-March 31 Performance/access/issue (whine) thread.

Today, mar 29 2010,
at least from 0800 GMT until now (1545 GMT),
at least from here (Netherlands)
performance was abysmal.

Loading a page (different ITRC forums) takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, or times out.
Other sites exhibit about normal performance.

Re: 2010 Jan-March 31 Performance/access/issue (whine) thread.

Long time no see, but...

about 1830 GMT, from the Netherlands, while posting a reply, the dreaded
System Unavailable
about half a dozen times.

Quite unsatisfactory.

15 minutes later posting did succeed.

Proost.
