z820 does not recognise raid 1 in Bios

I have a z820 Workstation with 2x 2tb drives set up in a Raid 1 configuration however when booting into the Bios setup the drives are not there.

Now if you connect the cables into the sata ports then you can see the drives however i cannot see the cd rom drive.

I have also tried is connected to the SAS ports as well no joy.

I am trying to install Windows 7 64 but enterprise in a raid 1 configuration with 2x 2tb

Re: z820 does not recognise raid 1 in Bios

First of all, please update the system BIOS to v. 1.12. If this does not work, please provide the following information.

  1. The system has 2-channel SATA 6.0 Gb/s Interface, 4-channel SATA 3.0 Gb/s Interface, and 8-channel 6 Gb SAS interface. Did you see the problem with SAT 6.0 Gb/s ports aand SAS ports? No problem with SATA 3.0 Gb/s ports?
  2. Model name and part numbers for 2 2TB drives?
