Could you describe more details about your trouble?

Basically, its kinda like the FTP Repository, the difference is that it uses share folder server to store the hpdm files.

Before configure a share folder, you need to know a share folder's hostname/IP, username, password, and share folder path. Also, the user should have its write/read permissions.

After configure one share folder, you can click the Test button to synchronize files (Just like FTP). If it fails, the reason might be the share folder configuration parameters are wrong. (You can use windows explorer to check)

PS: Share Folder Repository is used to do Clone/Update image for WES7/WES09.

I notice that the share folder path string has a "blank space", that might be the cause. You can try to specify a path without a blank space, also, the '\' should be changed to '/'   (e.g.: mc-msashpmgr/sharefolder). Then do testing.

I'm truly regretting upgrading to the new HPDM this morning. I was fine with FTP based WES7 imaging.

I'm having the same error trying to establish a shared folders.

I've also been lead to this thread due to errors trying to image WES7 and getting a resulting *52 error.

I completely wiped my FTP trying to fix this, and reinstalled HPDM thinking it was that.

Got it.

Create a separate local administrator account for the share. Under "path" just put the folder share name, not including the full computer name, no slashes.

I had created an image with HP Easy Tools to a USB device, which I then imported into HPDM, I wonder if I can still push it, and now I also boot to a lovely "Windows could not parse" error. That's a separate topic I guess!

Dear all

Just found that post - having similar problems and wondering why there is no documentation on that Share Folder thing ....

Sahre01.JPG

I also cannot have access to my share folder ...

Here is the config on my Windows System .. which I manage to have access with the very same NT user from my Windows 7 Client

Can you guys please tell me what to enter exactly here ?

For the sake of trying it can you do two things?

Make a share folder that is just "FileShare" no underscore, share it with the same name.

Make a local administrator without underscores in it.

Thanks!

btw, I have given up on the newest version of HPDM for imaging. My latest copy on my server just does Command/Control/Distribution. I use VM's or testbed computers with old versions of HPDM to create the actual images to deploy. Great system eh?

Try using FTP instead? To test, access your FTP server using FileZilla or via CMD FTP. We found that it's very fussy (especially when doing a HPDM image capture) about using certain symbols in the FTP password. Alpha-numeric seems to be fine though.

This worked for me.
