T5550 poor quality sound in RDP

We just bought HP T5550 thin clients and we have problems with sound in RDP. The sound is OK locally. Can you help us solve this problem please?
Thank you in advance.

Same problem for us, we have 20 T5550 and our users can't listen audio files.
Is it possible to have a fix?

I read somewhere you should enable USB drive mapping in RDP to get good sound quality

Re: T5550 poor quality sound in RDP

Hi

Enabling USB drive mapping doesn't help. (which is not a solution anyway)

The problem exists with many HP thin clients from the last years. t5540 , t5550, t510 (we have hundereds of those) - All suffering the poor audio quality problem with connecting to 2003 R2 terminal servers, and 2008 R2 terminal servers. (local audio playback working fine, so it's not the audio chip itself, but probebly something to do with the RDP on the TC itself)

Older HP thin clients, like t5510 does not suffer from this problem.

I was sure it will be fixed many years ago, by some firmware\system image update, but no. It's getting very old, so we'er considering to move to other brands.

Re: T5550 poor quality sound in RDP

An update.  HP ThinPro Image fix the sound problem completely, (well, to acceptable levels. It's still not good as PC sound) and its seems as good as the Windows CE 6 image features wise. (well, it's missing auto shutdown feature that the Windows CE got, and you can't export settings to a network location)

But it's only a solution for t510 clients, and not for the t5540 and t5550 which got only 0.5GB flash card, and ThinPro image requires 1GB flash card minimum.

Pity, because the t5540 and t5550 and t510 has the same Windows CE 6.0 image, so I guess its hardware compatible.
