NSA Approval

Is HP's Thin Clients approved by the NSA for use on a Sippernet?

Re: NSA Approval

Elbert,
What are the requirements for NSA?
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

Re: NSA Approval

Not sure. I know that the NSA has approved one OS -- SELinux -- http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/

Re: NSA Approval

We use all types of brands on SIPRnet.

It is the OS that need to be approved/disapproved.

Re: NSA Approval

Is your Sippernet in a secure location/building or do you clients access it from elsewhere.

Re: NSA Approval

Rich...What OS are you using and what branch of the service are you working under/for.

This particular one is for the AF. I recently deployed a solution at an Army base but it is inside a secure environment. The issue I'm having now is clients coming from outside a secure environment.

Thanks for responding...

Re: NSA Approval

Hum...My client indicated that they have clients coming across the tack lanes from a location on the base, but not is a secure facility. Right now they are using PC's and they pull there HDD at night and lock them in a safe

Re: NSA Approval

We have secure rooms only. No remote allowed.

Locking up HDD is standard for TS on UP.

Re: NSA Approval

Rich...Are you dealing with the Air Force or another branch of the service?
