How to Harden HP ThinClient T5740 (ThinPro OS)

We are scanning HP Thin Clients (T5740) running HP's ThinPro OS with Qualy's vulnerability scanner.

Some vulnerabilities were reported by the scanner.  I understand the devices are read-only and these may not be a significant risk, however, we would like to close these vulnerabilities.

A network port scan shows the following TCP ports listening:

111 sunrpc
515 printer
4000 terabase
5800 vnc
5900 vnc
6000 x11
40001 unknown
40010 unknown

1.  Which of these ports are required by HP's Device Manager?

2.  How do we disable the other ports?

Re: How to Harden HP ThinClient T5740 (ThinPro OS)

Hi Brian,

i know this is an old post but just for info:

These are the ports HPDM is using:

40001 unknown
40010 unknown

To disable the other ports, disable or remove the services (i.e. VNC).
