sorry for my bad english, I speak french.
I have HP t5740e with Windows Embedded Standard 7 and Bios v1.03
I follow the HP tutorial.
I boot correctly from the USB key and I run Flash.bat but nothing happens.
In the batch file, I have:
afudos 40HV0104.rom /P/B/N/C/K/R/l2/reboot
When I do it manually ( C:\> afudos 40HV0104.rom /P/B/N/C/K/R/l2/reboot ) without the batch file, I have
Error: unknown command
I need help.

are afudos.exe and 40HV0104.ROM in the same folder (i.e: both resides in C:\)? Make sure they both are in the same folder and execute it from that folder.
Please also make sure that you're booting to DOS not winPE + cmd prompt.

afudos.exe and 40HV0104 are on the root of my bootable USB key.
When I boot on the USB key, I have first:
FreeDos kernel version 1.1.33 (Build 2033) [Jan 31 200416:30:33]
Kernel compatibility 7.10 - WATCOMC - FAT32 support
(C) Copyright etc
At the end I have:
FreeCom version 0.82 pl 2 XMS_Swap
Current date is Thu 07-25-2013

Enter new time:
Is that correct?

I just tried to use regular microsoft dos (win98 dos) and the flash.bat works just fine. There could be an incompatibility issue between afudos utility and freedos that you're using.
Have you tried flashing the BIOS from the thin client OS (WES7) using WFlash (afuwin.exe)?
