HP T510 with ThinPro 4.2 Redirect USB

Hi All,

We are setting up T510 with ThinPro 4.2 to allow local Mainframe and then using Citrix for the rest.  I have changed the setting to redirect USB to Citrix but when I plug in a usb storage key or printer it does not re-direct.  But if i do the same on a Windows device it re-directs to Citrix fine.  Any ideas what I'm missing.

Thanks

You'll have to map a drive to the mount point of the os, ie: /tmp/media/

Re: HP T510 with ThinPro 4.2 Redirect USB

The lasted Thinpro image for t510 should be T6X44017 which you can download from HP website.

Before connecting to the citrix server, you need to go to the Control Panel find the USB Manager and set the Citrix as the default protocol, then the USB device should be able to redirect to the server site when you run the connection.

Thanks & Best Regards

Re: HP T510 with ThinPro 4.2 Redirect USB

You mean the USB key even cannot be detected in thinclient local?

Have you tried another USB key with other brand, like SandDisk or Kingston?

Thanks & Best Regards

Re: HP T510 with ThinPro 4.2 Redirect USB

I am using RDP and cannot map the USB Drive

OS Build ID T6X44017

I can see the USB drive when I run command $ df and it show the drive. but when connection via RDP to windows desktop no usb drive is mapped.

I have enabled all the settings in the HP setup and the RDP options.

What I am really trying to accomplish is native redirection on not redirection via \\tsclient. I need the plugged in device to show as a media device ( native redirection)

I am up against wyse tcx and it is a possible 1000 client deal

The software is lego mindstorm where they plug this robot into the thin client device which has a rdp session to windows 7

Re: HP T510 with ThinPro 4.2 Redirect USB

On the Thinpro image 4.2 ,Devices option under USB manager is not available to check if the device is detected locally.
You can try another USB flash and see if that gets redirected. If not ,my recommendation would be to update the latest image and change settings mentioned below and see if that helps..

****To update the image there are several methods however the easiest way is through HP easy update.Steps are below

1.Login to Admin mode
2.Under controlpanel>Management>Hp easyupdate
3.Click on update tab and select Full image update
4.Select the THinpro 4.4 and click install.

To re-direct USB storage device follow the below steps after updating the image.
1.Login to Admin with default password ' root'
2.Control panel>Peripherals>USB manager >Select the protocol as Citrix and make sure allow devices to be mounted is checked
3.On the left select Devices tab.
3.USB device connected to the unit should be listed.
4.Put a check on the device and make sure its set to redirect and not default.
5.Apply the settings and try to connect to the Citrix enviroment.

To re-direct USB connected printer follow the steps below
>>>>Thinpro 4.4 has generic drivers for most of the printers. If the device is not listed locally then we might need to install device specific drivers.

1.Login to Admin mode with default password'root'.
2.Control panel >Peripherals>Printers..Check if the printer is listed.
3.Select Server tab on the top
4.Click Settings >Check the box Publish shared printers connected to the system

Now try to connect to the environment and i hope it should get re-directed.
