Using 1GB DIMMs in B2600

Hi all,

I am running HP-UX 11.11 on a 785/B2600 with 2x256MB DIMMs.

I would like to run a higher version of HP-UX, but I can't run the install because 512MB of RAM is not enough, so I bought 4x1GB DIMMs (A6016A) which can be installed according to the manuals.

However the workstation does not accept the DIMMs.

I have searched the Internet and learned that I should upgrade the firmware to 1.4 and install a Hardware Enablement Bundle.

The last one I can't find.

Does anyone know which HWE I should install to enable the 1GB DIMMs and where I can find it?

Thanks, Martin

11.11 is the last supported HP-UX version for PA workstations.

Re: Using 1GB DIMMs in B2600

Dennis,

Actually my question is how to get the 1GB DIMMs working in the B2600.

I found that I should install the Hardware Enablement Bundle, but so far I haven't found the bundle.

Any idea which bundle I should install and wher I can find it?

Thanks, Martin

Re: Using 1GB DIMMs in B2600

The last support pack for 11.11 is from Dec. 2009, but the HWE inside is from December 2006, so you could use any support pack from December 2006 or newer.

But for software updates for HP-UX 11.11 you need a support contract, then you get anything from:

You need to login separately!

This would be the exact link, but I don`t know if it works:
