HP C3000 and A5158a Fibre HBA

[ Edited ]

I've been trying to get an A5158A to work in my C3000 (hpux 11i, appropriate patches and drivers installed). I have it installed in slot 2 (64bit, 66Mhz. 3.3v). The green light, which I assume is "power", is on. The amber light, which I assume is link, is off. HPUX sees the card, but nothing attached to it. I've tried connecting it to a known working silkworm switch, which reports "no sync" on that port. I've tried directly connecting it to a va7100 array, set to auto sense, 1Gb, hpux, and has 3 LUN's created on it. The controller on the va7100 shows the green "connected" light, but no LUNs. I've swapped the gbic, no help.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I have a bad card.

Re: HP C3000 and A5158a Fibre HBA

Can You also run and post output of:

/opt/fcms/bin/tdutil /dev/td0 stat

But as long as You wait AWAITING_LINK_UP there is some hardware issue - but talking of hardware - did You replace the cable?

Re: HP C3000 and A5158a Fibre HBA

Time to go shopping, or try to get an Emulex LP card to work. Thanks for the help.

Doug

P.S. Bought a new card, it works much better. Having issues now with CommandView, probably just configureation, I'll open another tread if I need to.

Thanks again.
