Specs for HP 379300-B21 memory

I recently buyed 2 sets of advanced ECC memory (HP 379300-B21) but I did not get the specific data to configure the BIOS DRAM configuration settings.
Can anybody help me to get these settings right?
I use this memory on a MSI motherboard K8N-Master2-FAR with 2x dual opteron 275.

Many thanks for help in advance!

Re: Specs for HP 379300-B21 memory

Hi Oki
The Memory Option Kit 379300-B21 (Spare Part 378915-001) is a "4 GB Advanced ECC PC3200 DDR1-400 SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit (2 x 2 GB)".

It is an Option Kit for older DL385, DL585 and other Servers (BLx5).

The Memory on the MSI-Board must be installed in Order -> look at the .bmp file (its from MSI userguide) and "MSI Reminds You... Make sure that you install memory modules of the same type and density on DDR DIMMs."

In the BIOS you can enable the ECC checking if all DIMM have ECC (Menu Cell / DRAM Config / DRAM Feature Control). There are many advanced options, don't change to many :-)

Re: Specs for HP 379300-B21 memory

Thanks for the responce but I found the information (the data-sheet for the memory) allready at the Micron site, the manufactor.
However, it's not helping me to set the all the BIOS DRAM settings with certainty.
Offcoarse, a some of them are good at default, butt some don't. There must be somekind of document explaining the principles in witch way the memory is operating between each processor-core. I will motherboard suplier about it. Thanks for the reactions here.

Re: Specs for HP 379300-B21 memory

It seems that the settings for type of memory are different than the settings for usage.
The information in the "M.S.I. Quick user's guide" is not helping me to set the settings right. It's not a HP machine so I don't expect the people on the HP forums M.S.I. achitecture to know.
Thanks anyway!
