Compaq Presario 6265AA

I have a Compaq Presario 6265AA, and I can not find the drivers for the built in network card. Does anyone know where to get these, or at least the manufactuer of the card? Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Compaq Presario 6265AA

Shalom Presise,

Compaq has hardware specifications on all computers on their website. That will list the manufacturer of the card and such. Then you go to the manufacturers website to get the drivers.

This system is not designed for Linux and will give you trouble. You can get GB Intel NIC cards on ebay for $16. You can get 100 BaseT for around $9.99 netgear or linksys.

Spend a few bucks, buy a pci card and save yourself the hassle of compiling network and kernel drivers.

Re: Compaq Presario 6265AA

Try using a knoppix or ubuntu live cd. If either of those can configure the nic through some off-the-wall, unsupported setup, then at least you'll know it can be done...
