You can check if any of your files need updating by going to the windows update site and following the instructions there.
You will find the link to Windows update in your programs menu.

Thanks for fast reply.
I did not know that Windows Update also updates / corrects the System Files. Or do I not understand your reply ?
Using Windows Updates twice a month.

Windows updates should come to you automatically, you do not need to go and get them twice a month. All you need to do on your computer is to enable 'automatic updates'.
When you get Windows updates, they install.
Sometimes you are asked to re-start you computer. If you are asked to restart then it is the system files that are being updated.
If you are not watching the windows update alerts, then your computer may tell you that it is installing updates when you shut down. When you re-start your computer it may tell you that it is installing updates, and it will take a little longer to start up.
With Windows 7 you may get a message to tell you that it is going to restart itself, and you are invited to delay the restart.
