Windows 7 on NC6400

I have a NC6400 and I'm considering loading W7 on it. How compatible is the 6400? It is stable now and i don't want any problems. I have a T5600 with 3GB of RAM.

Thanks.

You can download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor here.  The advisor will check your programs and hardware and report on any expected issues.  Windows 7 generally  requires less hardware resources (CPU and memory) than Vista.  Based on the processor spec's it should support XP mode as well.

Re: Windows 7 on NC6400

Hi: I installed W7 Pro x64 on my nc6400 with the T7200 processor and 4 GB of memory. I can confiorirm that everything works just fine. Since you have the T5600 you can also install W7 x64 if you so choose. Install the OS, connect to the internet to let windows update download and install all the latest drivers. For any missing you use the Vista drivers. If you upgrade, post back with anything missing and I will be happy to assist. Off the top of my head, You will be missing the SD card reader drivers, and the HP 3D driveguard drivers. Use the Vista drivers for those.
