Help: Issue With HP Laptop Finger Detector

Sorry if this message is very brief/basic, I not that much into laptops/notebooks
Hey my names Sean. i have owned and been using an HP Pavillion DV7 Laptop, running on windows 7 for around 6 months now. I have been logging into my user login using the fingerprint detector perfectly well for 6 months, and all of a sudden my laptop is saying there is no fingerprint detector being read??

Its as if a driver has been disabled or something?

My major issue though is, I had no password loaded under my user login account, only finger touch sensor, so I have no way of getting into my account...

Anyone has any suggestions please??

There will be a password - you've just forgotten what it is.
Have you tried cleaning the sensor. Use a cotton bud and methylated spirits.
Failing that you could take it to a service agent with your proof of purchase and get them to re-set the forgotten password for you.
