How limited is the 1910 CLI ?

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I would like how "limited" is the 1910 CLI ?  It's shown Limited in the manual and the manual shows a very few commands line.

I've been able to use HP 5120 and 5500, is the CLI the same ?

I would want to only use the CLI and not the WebUI to configure it, is it possible ?

Thank you.

Re: How limited is the 1910 CLI ?

Nice question, I never realized HP had released a comware based web-managed switch (the 1910 series).

Indeed the cli seems pretty limited, just configuring the IP, password and factory reset.

See manual page for 1910:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=101&contentT...

or direct link to PDF user manual:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?redirectReason=DocIndexPDF&prodSer...

But it's still comware under the hood :)

Re: How limited is the 1910 CLI ?

Type the below command to enable developer mode on HP switches so that you can configure the switch from the CLI
"_cmdline-mode on' and the password '512900"

Type "sys" to enter the true advanced CLI

This will allow you to completely configure the HP1910 from the CLI
