UFT API Test - Does UFT support relative path to associate with a Excel file as the data source?

[ Edited ]

I created some API test scripts in C: driver, associating with excel file as the data source in the same directory, them I put these scripts to another machine in a different driver F:, then tried to open these scripts, UFT can not pen the scripts because the associated files are not be found, see the attached screenshot.

I wonder whether UFT supports a relative path to associate files just like GUI test, or do we have a solution that can handle this?

Your kind reply will be a greate help. Thanks.

Do we have a QTP support team can contact internally, by the way?

p.S. this thread has been moved from Service Test Support and News Forum to Unified Functional Testing (formerly QTP) News and Support forum - HP Forums moderator

Re: UFT API Test - Does UFT support relative path to associate with a Excel file as the data source?

Hi LiuKun1987

I hope you have a nice day!

As you can confirm this here:

Regarding this specific request let me comment you that UFT so far only allows you to work with excel files as a data source but the relative path are not supported yet. The closer environment that may be able to work with relative paths is the GUI test due it's able to work with actions, this details have been verified by the UFT senior engineers to provide an accurate and definite answer so if anything else is required the suggestion is rise an Enhancement Request with HP UFT Support directly.

I hope this can be useful
