UFT often freezes while I'm stepping through a test with breakpoints enabled.
Both my test and associated function libraries are opened from ALM source control.
The freeze always seems to happen when viewing the Local Variables tab while stepping through the test with the F10 or F11 keys.
When this happens, the status bar in the lower right corner gets stuck on Running or Paused.
All keyboard and mouse actions in UFT becomes unresponsive.
It never resolves itself and I'm forced to kill UFT from taskmgr.
The problem appears to be random.
I can't reproduce the freeze against a particular block of code in either the Test or Functional library.
If i run the same code without any breakpoints, UFT never freezes.
I'm running UFT with 11.52 Service Pack 1 and 11.52 Patch 1on a Windows7 32 bit platform with 4GB ram.
I only have the Web plugin enabled.
Is this a known issue? I've never seen this problem running the same code in QTP 11.0.

Known by whom?
Yes! This happens to me all the time. It is so bad that I try to avoid using single step as much as possible -- which itself it a pain since the feature is so valuable.
I have two rules I follow before doing single step.
1. Make sure I have saved the script changes.
2. Limit the steps to the very minimum I need.
In other words, I assume that UFT will hang and I just try to learn what I need to know before it does.

After some research I found that, yes, this issue has already been reported to RnD. The fix for it is internal for now but will be included in SP 3 for UFT.
If you find that this or any post resolves your issue, please be sure to mark it as an accepted solution.”

Could you try with the new version of PDM.DLL that came with Internet Explorer 8 and later? If you machine has IE8, you can use following command to register new PDM.DLL
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\pdm.dll
(with respect you are using 32bit OS, if you are using 64bit OS, please change path to 32bit IE)
There was a note in the tutorial suggested to use newer version of PDM.DLL instead of the one comes from Microsoft Script Debugger. It works for me for most of the debug tasks on UFT.
