I have recently installed uft 11.5 trial version along with all the required add ins , but it is not able to recognize WPF or Java windows. It just identifies them as simple "Window".
I have tried restarting, didnt help. Please help.

From UFT menu click on Record>Record and Run settings.
Select each tab , Windows Applications, Web, etc.
Please post the screenshots of each tab.

If you check Web Add-in does UFT record properly on Internet Explorer?
What .net framework was used to compile the wpf application?
The applications are running as 32 or 64 bits?
What .net framework do you have installed in the machine?
What add-ins do you have selected from Add-ins manager?

We are having similar issues with UFT. It records the following clicking on few objects in a WPF window (Check the attachment for more details)
We are using standard WPF controls and using MFC 10.0.40219.1 (Visual C++ 2010 SP1)
Currently i have a case opened with HP support and they cant seem to figure out the issue either.
I have used 2 other automation testing tools; Testcomplete and QA Wizard Pro and both of them are able to work on that window without any issues.
As per my experience from HP support, none of the developers from HP UFT team seem to be interested in resovling numerous issues with WPF object recognition.

The interaction between QTP 11 and WPF application is very slow , objects are not properly identified, system hangs.
When will HP come out with a solution to this?

We have faced the same problem. Try the following
1.Disable skins of the application.
2.Set the WPF and WCF path.
3.Set the .Net Path
Take the help of the development team.
