Longer time to download a gif in IE when ran a script through QTP

I am running a QTP script and at one point selecting a check box suppose to download a gif and it is taking at least 3 minutes to get the control back QTP to execute the next step in QTP.  During execution through QTP I can see status bar at the bottom showing downloading messaging with a file.

When I do same thing in manual download happening within 5 seconds.

I tested in firefox(Ver 17) manually and using QTP downlad of gif takes same as manual less than 5 seconds.

Why the delay is happening only in IE ? I am using IE version 8.

Any suggestions please

Thank You

What version of QTP are you using?
