The first machine when boots its comes up very fast, but when the second machine is booting its takes a lot of time( ~20 minutes), and once place where it spends a lot of time is while "Mounting memory Filesystems". Has anybody else seen this behaivior or have any suggestions.

There are other possible causes for the slow boot too. And ~20 minutes may not even be excessive (depending on the configuration). If the above doesn't help, please provide a more detailed description of the configuration and include version numbers and patch levels.

are there any errors in messages or in the syslog.dated log files?
Look for error counters with
netstat -I"nic" -s
I also think that a 100mbit crossover link is not adequate. ;-)

Yes, the machines are in the lab environment , so we had to do with a crossover cable.
For the production environment we would be using a HUB for the cluster interconnect.
BTW the speeds on both the cards are set to 100Mbps full duplex using the lan_config command.
Also, I would plan to use GIGAbit cards in the future
