is there any doc link to read this this thing in my own.I am about to take an ILT on HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 5-day (U4879S).
Now just before going to class I just want some basic knowledge on SAN and Storage so that everything does not go OTH.
I was previously totally on different track (eg. DBA),but due to some pressure from higher authority I must avail this course so plz be fine with me with your suggestion so that I can avoid OTH during this course work.
Any concept building documentation link and ebooks would be helpful.

Well you do want to get acquainted with fibre channel stuff.
If possible, I would recommend a Brocade course.
On their learning page there is one for free (at least that's what my profile says..) called "FC 101 Introduction to Fibre Channel Concepts". Definitely worth checking out. Brocade also has some web based/self-paced courses that you need to pay for, but I think the FC 101 should be enough for EVA stuff.
I have never read a SAN/Storage book except HP's own Introduction to SAN, which is very high level and honestly quite crap but I guess it does the basic and theory of some ideas.

But the storageworks 2008 goes inactive in september 2011. So if you want to have something current you would want to start on the path of something that has after it.

Cisco or CCNA is not in that .pdf at all, why do you think it's required?

i am going through the FC 101 it looks more over networking stuff rather than a oracle DBA act. lolz
A data guard and stream (both ) or a clique (Teradata )is enough to set up a DR DC replication whenever / whatever the Location is.
Why need FC as it has limited range of guarantee of data transfer 10 Gigs/s 3000m ??
