I hope someone has an answer to my issue..
The DAT72 drive has been working fine until a few days ago when Backup Assist started complaining that 'BA210 Cannot find tape drive - ensure it is installed'
I have tried uninstalling the device and reinstalling but it is refusing to install now or just say it could not start the device.
It has power.. Tapes can be inserted and ejected.
I wonder if anyone has had a similar problem in the past??

This is a Driver related issue. Mainly due to MS not accepting to enable the Driver for communication.
Once you uninstall it from Device Manager. Check for the hpdat.sys or Inf file from Windows\System\Inf folder.
Delete the file and restart the server. Make sure the drive is connected when the server is rebooted. It will automatically pick up the driver. If not, then you may have to try testing it on a different machine to check if this is a Hardware issue.
