opcmon error OpC30-681

Hello, I am not familiar with OV and I have a problme with my OV monitor. any suggestions and help will be appreciated.

I have a HPUX11.11 server running open view and recently I migrated the filesystems from and old array LUNs to a new one. as part of the migration I reorganize the VGs and I needed to copy the files from the old to the new filesystem. Prior to the migration all my monitor alerts were working find.

Now I am getting OpC30-681  error from one of the scripts. The command that is executed is the following :

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcmon "AAA_disk_AAAOV11=/orasw" -object /orasw -option A=/orasw

The following is the list of my templates

Re: opcmon error OpC30-681

Hello.

Text for the OpC30-681 error is:

The value passed to the opcmon(1) command is not in a numeric format.
Valid is any floating point representation recognized by scanf(3C).

And if your call looks just like shown here then it's no wonder it doesn't work.  You'll have to check the script and fix it so it passes the correct (numeric) value to the 'opcmon' tool.

Re: opcmon error OpC30-681

Goran, Thank you for your comment, I saw the same output when running opcerr, but I am not knowledgeable with OV in general.

in the line below, which value is supposed to be numeric.

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcmon "AAA_disk_AAAOV11=/orasw" -object /orasw -option A=/orasw
Please use plain text.

Re: opcmon error OpC30-681

Hello.

Based on this line of output:

MONITOR      "AAA_disk_AAAOV11"   enabled

It should be (this is just an example):

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcmon "AAA_disk_AAAOV11=55" -object /orasw -option A=/orasw

Regards,

    Goran

Re: opcmon error OpC30-681

Goran, thank you for your reply. I will correct the script to ensure the right type of data is passed to the opcmon.
