Oracle- DB SPI- Error

Hi All,

 

I am trying to add DB SPI monitoring fr HP UX- Oracle node. Discover poiicy is succesful and I am able to see the DB's.

When I check with the DB connection manager I get the below status

Oracle Server Manager Release 3.1.7.0.0 - Production
Copyright (c) 1997, 1999, Oracle Corporation.  All Rights Reserved.
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.4.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning option
JServer Release 8.1.7.4.0 - 64bit Production
SVRMGR> Connected.
SVRMGR> select instance_name, status from v$instance
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
SVRMGR> ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
SVRMGR> Server Manager complete.

Hi All,

 

im  facing also a problem with DBSPI.

 

I deployed "dbspi" on a server, and I increased the alert threshold to 20% on tablespaces that are full to test the configuration (if I'll get alerts)

but I get nothing.

and on the file / var / opt / OV / dbspi / log / dbspierror, I find the following errors:

2013-11-03T01:33:05 ERROR dbspicao(10) XXX [cola:ora_util.pc:242]: DBSPI10-23: Unable to connect to database 'XXX' [ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 2: No such file or]. See Instruction text or User's Guide for details.

Hello Amarnath,

 

It looks like you are still trying to monitor Oracle 8i. Please be aware that this version is not supported any more by the SPI and by Oracle for quite some time already:
