OVO agent 11.00.044 is not working fine

Hello All

 

We had installed OVO agent 11.0.044 on HP UX server ( IA64 environment ) and integrated it with OMU server agent version 11.0.003

 

On installation we see everything works fine but after some time we are seeing lot of agent processes are dead.

 

We have HP NNM installed on same server.

 

Can you please let me know what is the exact command to remove the agent installation please.

 

On install guide I am seeing the command is,

 

oainstall -r

 

but I would like to get it confirmed.

Hi Ramesh,

oainstall.sh -r -a -clean

The option 'clean' will cleans the contents of the installation and data directories.

Also what are the agents which are down?
post ovc -status and opcagt -status

Don't use -clean option , I see that NNM is also installed on the same server ..

 

use : oainstall.sh -r -a

I heard that without uninstalling OV agent, I can upgrade to 11.01.003.

 

If so can you please provide me the steps and download location for OVO agent 11.01.003 please.

11.01.003 is a patch .. You can download the patches from the http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/patches by selecting the operation agent and its version..

 

However I would suggest you to go either 11.10 , 11.12 agent versions , check whether your NNM Version Co-Exists ( Refer the Support Matrices ) with any of the suggested version and then download ..

for steps you have to just execute, and can also go to 11.05 or more if supported which resolve most of the bugs of 11.00.

./install.sh -i -a

Thanks Piku, but I have a question here.

 

My management server has 11.01.003 version agent and if I upgrade agent version on my node to 11.05, can it cause any issues since the agent version on the node is higher than OM server.

No issue, we are using OM8.35 and version 11.05
