[OA Tip]: Parameters that should limit the data retention period in coda files

There are two parameters that will limit the data retention period in coda files

CODA CODA 10.51.275 introduced two configuration parameters to roll over CODA  db file daily/weekly and allow to specify maximum age:

DB_MAX_FILES indicates max number of DB files

DB_ROLLOVER indicates DAILY or WEEKLY rollover

If DB_ROLLOVER is DAILY, then DB_MAX_FILES should be set

in range of 1 to 7

If DB_ROLLOVER is WEEKLY, then DB_MAX_FILES should be set

in range of 1 to 5

If these two parameters are not set, then by default, log

file roll over will be WEEKLY and there will be maximum

of 5 DB files

Example of the possible changes:

ovconfchg -ns coda -set DB_MAX_FILES 7

ovconfchg -ns coda -set DB_ROLLOVER DAILY

Added to this you also can:

"ENABLE_INSTANCE_CACHE=false" in "coda" namespace.

This will avoid caching instance list on the CODA side.

Also its possible to use a configuration variable to get faster data access from SCOPE so please set:

"DATAMATRIX_VERSION=1" in "coda" namespace.

Hope this information helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Carlos Pinto
