Re: Is it possible to rename a HPOM policy

Hello,

In HPOM for Windows, you can select the policy, right click > All Tasks > Edit and once you have made the appropriate changes, use the option File > Save As and save it with a name of your choice.

I hope this information helps

Re: Is it possible to rename a HPOM policy

We can change as "Save as", and then new name but if source is external it wont work.

>>>> it really depends. you are right, in case of DBSPI or other SPI policy which look for Prefix of the policy in Question but not all external.

Coming back to original question i would say rename of policy is not possible in OMW. as beatriz said you can save as the policy so you have same policy with new name which is not really an rename.

Re: Is it possible to rename a HPOM policy

HP provides an 'example' script for OMW that might fit the bill:

\examples\OvOW\Policy Management\scripts\SavePolicyAs.vbs

The mechanism is still "save as" but the script seem to provide a '/replaceOnNode' to redeploy the new policy. Haven't tried it myself though.
