Silent Install UDP

Hi,

I use this commandline to install the UDP drivers on my PCs before users connect them to printers :

           Install.exe /q /h /dm

But I don't know when the installation is finished !

I don't find any log saying : Verbose logging stopped

like I found when I use a .msi with the /l*v flag

How can I know, in my script, that the installation is finished ?

Thank you for your help.

Ludovic.

Re: Silent Install UDP

If you have bidirectional communication enabled (default for UPD), the last event of a UPD install is to SNMP communicate with the printer via the defined port to check the capabilities of that printer, collect, and make those capabilities available to the UPD (ie- if the printer supports Job Storage, the UPD will display the Job Storage tab... same with Color).  These settings are saved in the registry.  Therefore one option could be to check for settings in the registry before moving to your next routine.

Re: Silent Install UDP

Another solution would be watch the install.exe process in Task Manager.  Once this install.exe process is gone from the process list, the print queue should be installed and ready to go.

Hope this helps!
