Column Mapping to the Title Field

TRIM 7.3.1 #5352

Sharepoint 201

Hello

I have the standard SharePoint columns of Name and Title mapped to the Title (Free Text Part) field in TRIM.  When I save a document and it gets managed, only the Name column is coming across.

I assume the columns get mapped across with a ' - ' separator,

ie.  this is the name column - this is the title column.

When I look at the mapping screen in SharePoint, there are two Title - Single Line of Text columns in the _Hidden category.  Would that be correct?

Any ideas on why both are coming across?

Thanks very much

Simon

Re: Column Mapping to the Title Field

Hi Simon,

At this stage, I would say it's incorrect to assume both columns are mapped with a hyphen separator.

The Name and Title columns are a standard mapping to the Title (Free Text) TRIM field.

I'm not sure which would take precedence when being mapped if both columns are populated. (Though I assume it might be alphabetical order so Name gets mapped)

Have you tried managing an item with on Title populated and not Name?

What happens then?

Also remember that ALL data from a SP item is saved into TRIM, you're not losing any data, it's just not being made visible via a TRIM field.
