HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

Hi,

I'm installing HP SHR after uninstalling It (due to a wrong configuration data inserted at previous installation),

all packages were successfully installed but the last one- the "HP PMDB BO rebrand" It keeps running but nothing happens and I don't get any error message. It just keeps running for an hour now.

Please help.

Also, if you know the location of installation log files that will be very helpful as well.

Thank you in advanced.

After a while it was installed.

guess you have to wait.

Re: HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

Yes you need to wait. last package(HP PMDB BO rebrand) takes very long time to configure coz it starts the Sybase IQ agent nd installs many postgress database files.

If the installation failed in the HP PMDB BO rebrand means Ensure that you have local admin user rights. You must not be logged into the system as a domain user.

Thanks.

Re: HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

Dears,

I am stuck in HP PMDB Tomcat package, in the ovinstaller logs, it appears that package has been installed successfully, however it's stuck there since 5 hours, installation looks normal (not froze)

Also we checked Windows Event logs, I got warnings below:

Can you assist in this?

Re: HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

I am logged in using a domain user who is part of local admin group. Would that be OK or not?

Thanks

Re: HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

There is a limitation while installing SHR with the domain user.. Refer the release doc ..

Usually PMDB Stage would take much time to finish , Anyways let it run and wait to see the end result , if it failed , then install SHR using local user having admin privilege ..

Re: HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

Thanks for the feedback.

However the domain admin used, is already a member in local admins group, wouldn't that be sufficient?

Also we didn't get any errors during the installation, the installation just got stuck in HP PMDB Tomcat since yesterday.

I believe we'll have to roll back the installation and start fresh one..!

How long was the installation stuck ? Its been 5 hours and the installation is still stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand. Not sure if I should rollback or continue.

Re: HP SHR 9.30 Installation- stuck on HP PMDB BO rebrand

Hello,

did you solve this issue? My installation also stuck on Postgres installation, even if I run it as local admin. Notepad with this script is open during installation:

Dim WshShell,user,mgdata,yes,objWMIService,objAccount,strGroupName
Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
Dim BsmInstallDir
Set FSO = CreateObject("Scripting.fileSystemObject")
Set Args = WScript.Arguments

strComputer = "."
     Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:\\" & strComputer & "\root\CIMV2")
'I use WMI to get the names for each group depending on SID
     Set objAccount = objWMIService.Get("Win32_SID.SID='" & "S-1-5-32-545" & "'")

'Get SIDName for: Local Users group = S-1-5-32-545
     strGroupName = UCase(objAccount.AccountName)

       MakeFolder Args(0) & "\Postgres\Mgmtdata"

    'wscript.echo "%COMSPEC% /c "&"cacls"& " "&Args(0) & "\Postgres\Mgmtdata " &"/E /G "&strGroupName&":F"
    return = WshShell.run ("%COMSPEC% /c "&"cacls"& " "&Args(0) & "\Postgres\Mgmtdata " &"/E /G "&strGroupName&":F", 1, true)
    wscript.quit(return)

'' FUNCTION:    MakeFolder
'' DESCRIPTION: Creates a folder if the parent folder is present
'' RETURN VAL:  0: Success
''              1: Folder already exists
''              2: Parent Folder doesnt exists
Function MakeFolder(foldername)
 Dim temp
  On Error Resume Next
   If FSO.FolderExists(folderName)<>True Then
    If FSO.FolderExists(FSO.GetParentFolderName(foldername))=True  Then
      FSO.CreateFolder(folderName)
    End If
   End If
End Function

If I check postgres install log, there is installation finished (log is attached).

Thanks for your help.

Ivan
