Can SA determine if my RPM is installed on my managed nodes?

I would like to use SA to find what managed server have a certain RPM or software package installed.  What's the suggested method to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Bert

Bert,

BS_SOFTWARE should collect this information.     You could use BSAE, HPSA Advanced Search, or a SQL DB query to quickly grab the information:

HPSA Advanced Search:

    Search For: 'Server'

    Where: 'Installed Software' 'Contains' 'OPSWspin'

The above will list all my HPSA Cores.

For SQL:

SELECT              D.SYSTEM_NAME           AS SERVER,
                    IU.UNIT_DISPLAY_NAME    AS SOFTWARE_INSTALLED,
                    IU.SOFTWARE_VERSION     AS SOFTWARE_VERSION,
                    D.STATE                 AS OPSWARE_STATUS,
                    IU.UNIT_TYPE
FROM                TRUTH.INSTALLED_UNITS   IU,
                    TRUTH.DEVICES           D
WHERE               IU.UNIT_TYPE = 'RPM'
            AND     IU.UNIT_DISPLAY_NAME LIKE 'OPSWspin%'
            AND     IU.DVC_ID = D.DVC_ID

Re: Can SA determine if my RPM is installed on my managed nodes?

Sorry to restart an old thread but had one quick question.  When using the advanced search option, the result displays the server that contains the RPM in question.  Is the only way to view the version of the RPM to open the device view and go into the inventory?  Is there a way for the search to return not only the server that has the RPM but the version as well.  Trying to figure out some security compliance issues.

Thanks,

Bert
