using HP Precisionscan Pro ver 2.02 with Acrobat Writer 4.0

[ Edited ]

The Precisionscan software defaults to 8 1/2 by 14 paper size even when the user selects a custom setting. Is there an .ini file or registry setting that can be altered to fix this? Or should I begin searching for an alternative scanning software application? We are using an HP Scanjet 6300c in this case. Thank you.

Seems like HP do not check the forum.

In any case, there is a bulletin on HP's
site regarding the page length challenge. You may have to search more than one way (different key words) to find all bulletins.

I think it uses the approach of getting something into the PPro window by previewing a piece of paper of the size you want (scan the bed) then selecting an area to match the paper (put cursor in very top left corner while ensuring cross-hairs show not arrow(s) then
moving it right and down to the size you want). Then save that as a Setting, and Load the setting for each job. Yes, HP writes clunky software! (But it could be worse - and the basic version of Precisionscan is.)

An alternate when using Acrobat is simply to crop all pages when you have finished. (Document|Crop)
