HP scanjet 3970 not working with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
Does anyone know how I can set this up to work?

Scanjet 3970 is not compatible with Windows Vista or 7.
Take a look at this post. http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Windows-7/Install-Sca

It's pretty hokey. But it is possible to do a little bit with it.
You can install the bsic windows vista 64 bit bit drivers on win 7.
Once you have done that, hp scanjet appers in devices and printers. double click it an you get a dialog box that lets you set resolutin and file format. click the preview button and it scans an shows you the image. You can then choose the part you want. and click scan. It scans, saves the image to a file opens file explorerer where it saves it and closes the dialog box. For your second page, you have to go back to devices and printers and go thorugh the process a second time.
It sure would be nice to be able to scan more than one page into a pdf like I could in solution center on XP.
