There is a temporary solution for this which i got from another thread. You can use start_b.htm instead of start_a.htm to login to qc.

I turned of UAC and the first 2 tries I got the same error message, and every try after that I get "Loading. Please wait..." but nothing happens after that.

What browser/version are you using? If you are using IE8 then there are some additional steps that must be completed to make it compatible with QC. First open the browser and go into tools/Compatibility settings and add the IP or domain such as redhat.com to the compatibility settings. Next go into Tools/Internet Options in the IE8 browser. Under the advanced tab, turn off the "Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks" option. This option is turned off in IE7 and is turned on by default in IE8, which prevents the browser-based application from loading. Restart the browser session and verify the proper operation of your application.

This is a problem with the v10 install. It was fixed with patch 7. There is however a patch 10 out there now I believe so it sprobably best to go directly to the latest one.

I went to the hp patch database but could not find any obvious patch for Quality Center. What was patch 7 called, it would give me something to search for.

If a patch cannot be applied to the QC 10.00 server, then the following two workarounds can be used for the interim:
1. Install the QC Client Side (This can be downloaded from the addins page of QC. Navigate to http://servername:portnumber/qcbin >Add-ins page>HP Quality Center Client Side Setup)
2. Install QC Explorer from the QC add-ins page and use that instead of Internet Explorer. QC Explorer can be downloaded from the link below:
NOTE: Please make sure to install the correct patch for the correct QC 10 edition. Patches for the QC 10 Enterprise and Premier edition (as found on the SSO) cannot be installed with the QC 10 Starter edition and vice versa. Starter edition patches can be obtained from Support, together with the installation instructions.
