QC pinned test sets example

dear all,
Could someone provide me with more examples of using pinned tests sets.
For instance if we hasve decided to not use versionning feature, could pinned test set is still interesting ?
Thanks a lot.

Re: QC pinned test sets example

Pinned test sets make only sense when you use versioning. You can pin a test set to a baseline. A baseline contains several requirements, components, tests and ressources in specific versions. It is like a snapshot of the current versions of these assets.

When you pin a baseline to a test set this will execute the tests in the test set according to their versions in the baseline.

If you have e.g. a baseline from January 2010 and pin this baseline to your current test set this will execute the tests in your test sets as they where in January 2010.

I hope this answers your question.
