Here is sql we have in a sql server reporting services report. It has selection criteria, but you can modify to extract all and run it against the db.

select c.full_path,
a.ts_subject,
a.ts_name,
a.ts_description,
b.ds_step_name,
b.ds_description,
b.ds_expected,
a.ts_responsible,
a.ts_status,
convert(varchar(10), getdate(), 101) as ts_creation_date,
a.ts_type
from td.test a, td.dessteps b, td.Z_ALL_LISTS_HIERARCHY c
where a.ts_test_id = b.ds_test_id
and a.ts_subject = c.al_item_id
and a.ts_type = 'MANUAL'
and a.ts_subject in (@subject)
order by a.ts_subject, a.ts_name, a.ts_test_id, b.ds_step_order

Re: How to export all test cases from QC to Excel with steps in one shot..

Login to desired project

From the Tools menu, select Excel Reports...

Click the + icon, to create a new Excel report

Select the 'Query' tab.
Enter the following on Sheet1:

Select *
from TEST, DESSTEPS
where TS_TEST_ID = DS_TEST_ID
order by DS_TEST_ID, DS_STEP_NAME

Then click 'Run Query'. When complete the results will display below.

From the Post-processing tab, make sure the checkbox is cleared for 'Run post-processing'.

On General tab, change Status to Ready.

At top of left window, click the hammer and wrench icon to Generate Excel Report.

This take approximately 15 minutes per 250 tests and their steps.
