QUESTION: TestCases from Excel to Quality Center?

by Community Manager on ‎11-30-2012 10:44 AM

My company recently purchased Quality Center.  Before the purchase, our team spent hours writing test cases in Excel.

Can test cases be uploaded from Excel into Quality Center?  It would help us to save a great deal of time.

Hi - QC does have a Microsoft Excel Add-in that enables you to export your existing test documents, requirements, or defects in Microsoft Excel directly to Quality Center.  You should be able to find it from QC under the HELP\Add-Ins menu. Click on 'More HP QUALITY Center Add-ins" link and you should see it.  Also make sure to check out the 'HP Quality Center 10.00 Microsoft Excel Add-in Guide' pg 17 shows how to format your tests so QC understand s how to import the info.

Hi, We recently bought QC 11 and we are moving our testcases slowly to the new system by using the Excel Addin. But we have our legacy defect system in Lotus 5.0 . We are looking an easier way to export the entire existing bug base to the QC. Any ideas, tools to export that system into QC??

Hi all

I am trying to upload my test scripts to the Quality Center 10 from excel sheey using the excel addin. However when I give the path where we need upload the test script it is creating a folder in QC with the path as folder name.

Ex. When I want to upload script in the path "Subject/Testcase/Reg", I have given the same in the excel sheet under the Subject column, however it is not uploading the test script under that path, but it is creating a new folder with name "Subject/Testcase/Reg".

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We are running HP QC (ALM) 11.5 (64 bit) on Windows 7 and I'm trying to install HP ALM Connectivity so I can install HP ALM Microsoft Word Add-in for ALM 11.00 and11.5x - No Admin Rights Required but the HP ALM Connectivity link is grayed out and unavailable for download and install.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Is the HP ALM Connectivity a 64 bit add-in?

HP ALM  Word/ Excel plugin works only with MS Office 32 Bit.
