create a custom JAVA portlet

Hello,

We would like to create a search option able to search on every fields of every requests. To  do so, we would like to create a custom java portlet with a text field, a search button and a list of value as result.

We have not found documentation very usefull on this custom JAVA portlet.

Have you an example of such report ? or any example of custom JAVA Portlet  ?

Regards,

Gregory

Hi,

I have a question to anyone interested in a feature to search request fields, or to anyone that already developped it: How do you handle field level security?

If some fields are restricted from being viewed by some users, such a search feature on request fields would allow a user without access to a field to guess the value of the field, through cross criteria search on the hidden field and other fields for which the value is known.

Did you found a way to address this security concern? Or do you think this is not a problem, for example if you don't use field level security control in requests?

Kind Regards,

Etienne.

Re: create a custom JAVA portlet

Hi,

We do not need to take care of the security of fields. All users whose have access to this portlet have also access to all fields.

Gregory
