I have a Proliant N40L with MS Server 2010 on a pair of RAID 0 disks. I'm about to install a pair of RAID 0 3TB disks for our data.
When one of these disks fail, how would I know? Is there some mechanism I can setup to email me in the event of a failure?
I can see myself not knowing that one of the drives has failed, and then having the other one in the pair fail as well...
If you're getting a sense of Déjà Vu reading this, then that's because I've asked this before (22 Feb 2013) but didn't get any (relevant) replies...
P.S. This thread has been moved from ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL) to ProLiant Servers - Netservers. -HP Forum Moderator

How will you know? Well, for one you wont have access to the data any longer. If any drive fails in a RAID 0 configuration, the volume is dead and cannot be recovered.
I am not familiar with the model though. Does this model have an available Support Pack for ProLiant so you can use the HP Event Notifier / HP Management Agents?
