DL360 G5 - iLO firmware and driver updated to latest verion and server restarts unexpectedly

Hi,

We have updated iLO firmware to 1.82 and Management Controller Driver Version to 1.15 on our DL360G5 servers.

We did this as advised from the Customer Advisory
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01802766&dimid=1166308456&di...

All systems were stable before the firmware/driver update but since we updated we have been experiencing occasional unexpected server restarts.
We've noticed that the server restarts are occurring mainly on servers running Windows Server 2003.

The EventID is "57" as in the advisory.

Re: DL360 G5 - iLO firmware and driver updated to latest verion and server restarts unexpectedly

I am experiencing the same exact symptoms with the same exact driver versions previously listed.

I also get this log entry in the ILO2 logs.

505 05/31/2010 15:58:00 BMC IPMI Watchdog Timer Timeout: Action=System Power Reset.
506 05/31/2010 15:58:00 Server power removed.
507 05/31/2010 15:58:00 Server power restored.

From a previous forum post I learned that disabling the ASR option on the systems management homepage should stop it from happening, but it does not fix it.

I have sorted many of these follow these these steps in this order
install ilo firmware 1.81 again.

then this interface driver note it is version B

HP ProLiant Integrated Lights-Out Management Interface Driver for Windows Server 2003/2008 1.15.0.0 (B)

now shutdown and restart not reboot ....

now start

and finally install

HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003 1.13.0.0
8 Mar 2010

now just reboot

This is how we thank each other in the forum
its for "all" who contribute in assisting

http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/helptips.do?#33

NB do not use ilo 1.82 on this server yet unless advised for a possible specific issue..

Enjoy:) thanks
