Scanner in CM1312 MFP not working in Solution Center - Error 8, [ (5, 0, 0) ]

Question

 

I've got a little problem using scanner on our LaserJet HP CM1312 MFP printer with HP Solution Center after buying new PC and switching from Windows XP to Windows 7(32-bit). After I click on "Scan a document" button an Error 8, [ (5, 0, 0) ] appears (required part in not installed), this function actually worked on old PC with Windows XP and we really don't want to switch back to it.

 

We using two HP printers on this PC, LaserJet HP CM1312 MFP and Photosmart C4580. I allready tryied to reinstall the drivers for both printers several times (complete uninstall of all HP software, clean temp. files and registry thru CCleaner and restart PC), but that scanner on LaserJet just not working with HP Solution Center. When I try START -> PRINTERS & DEVICES, right-click on LaserJet and select "Scan", then it actually works BUT it does NOT have an option to scan to PDF format with we need, only pictures(jpg, etc...).

 

I think that, then looking for a solution for make LaserJet's scanner work in HP Solution Center, would be easier to find another software, that would handle both printers. I read something about HP easy printer care, but as I understand, it's not free. Can you suggest any other free program for managing HP printers and easy scanning to PDF format?

 

Of course, if you know about a way to make that LaserJet's scanner work in HP Solution Center, that would be great too.

If you are going to continue to use Win7 then I suggest using the HP Scan utility.  HP Scan can be found under Start > Programs > HP > 1312. You will still be able to scan documents to PDF with this software and it is much more relyable with Win7.  Otherwise you will have to scan your documents with another 3rd party app and convert it manually to PDF from there. 

 

Scan to PDF is a proprietary feature which is owned and controlled by Adobe.  HP has rights to do so but other applications do not.  You could pay for a full adobe product and scan documents directly into that application, but chances are you wont find anything more convenient than the HP software.

 

There is no way to get the software seperate from the drivers with this printer.  You have to use the Full Software Solution which can be downloaded from HP's support site at http://support.hp.com

What about a Color Laserjet CM2320 fxi MFP  CC435A  which is install with the full feature software

downloaded from the HP website for Windows 7 64bit.  When we try to scan using the HP Solution Centre we get the message:  "A requested component was not found or not properly installed.  Reinstall HP Photosmart."  Error 8, [ (5, 0, 0) ]   There is no indication of which file is required and have tried removing and reinstalling the printer software several ways included direct with USB and network.  The Solution Centre scans without error with the Scanjet G3110 which is also attached to the computer.  

I have been trying to find a solution to this error for some time but only ever find mention of CM1312 MFP, so is there any solution for the CM2320 MFP I wonder?
