print jobs not leaving the queue

I have a laserjet 1200 connected to a d-link dp-300u print server shared through a windows 2003 server. When a print job is sent to the queue the printer prints it but the print job stays in the queue with a status of "sent to printer". The only way to remove this from the queue is to delete the jobs from the queue manualy. Also after the jobs have been manualy deleted from the queue they misteriously re-appear and print again. I have deleted and recreated the share on the windows server with no luck. The option to "keep printed documents" is not checked.

Windy,

This may fix your problem:

1. Select Start, Settings, then Printers and faxes from the Windows desktop.

2. Right-click the HP LaserJet printer icon, click on Properties.

3. Select the Ports tab and uncheck Enable bi-directional support.

4. Click the Apply button and then click OK until the printer's window is closed.
