Re: hp laserjet 1000 paper feed problem

The Pick Up roller is worn out or there is something in the Paper path blocking the paper from coming through.

Re: hp laserjet 1000 paper feed problem

Have no idea where you are at that can't tell you whether there is local Tech who could repair it. IF you are not in the USA, I can't even tell you where to get part.

As for replacing the PU Roller, it is very easy. Remove the toner cartridge, you will see teh grey color Pick Up roller. THer are two little latches holding it at one end. Release them and you could get it out.

HP OEM Parts resellers liek Laser Pros:

888-558-5277, ext 122
partsnow
Depot-America
printerworks.com
etc all have the part. You will find out the S&H costs more than the part itself.

Re: hp laserjet 1000 paper feed problem

...i just solved this problem with no new parts, in about 5 minutes.

First I read this thread to pin point the part and problem.

The grey rubber pick up band was worn out and not grabbing the paper.

I simply cut it away (actually it broke during diag) so I removed the band's core and wrapped plain old rubber bands around the core.

I used about five or six rubber bands and formed a very rough shape of the original grey band. This worked and I am a mechanical genius now I can use this really solid printer for a few more years.

Well, here is to HP letting this thread stick around to help some techies.

Peace.
