Thanks for a quick solution - my printer has been printing but.....I just tried to print something and it printed "Unsupported Personality: PCL". I note that the print driver you used was PCL5 and wondered if there was a connection. AQny idea what "Personality" means in terms of an HP printer?

Personality is the language the printer understands.  PCL5, PS, PCL6, etc.

I would have thought that a PCL5 driver would work most of the time, compared to PS, or PCL6.

despite many posts of thanks below THIS FIX DOES NOT WORK. it works for a certain number of pages. then the buffer gets filled and you get an unsupported personality error message. if you turn the printer off and then on again to clear the buffer you can print again. ok for short jobs. but impossible for big ones. NO driver works. buy a new printer or hook up to windows xp computer

i hv installed on win 7 pc how u explained but i am having prob with another win 7 64bit pc over network :(

This works for too many, but not for me. I installed the driver as you describe and my printer, after 5 impressions, prints an error. This happends all the time so I must turn off the printer and start again.

With the Vista driver the same problem, In addition also a problem in the printing time.

I think the real problem is the indifference from HP for all the users. 

I'll looking for another solution.

It did not work for me.. I was able to print the test page but later on no page was printed and an unknown error was displayed.

Any solutions for drivers for hp laserjet 1010 for windows 7??

Dear HP Team,

Please suggest to install driver for HP Laserjet 1010 for Windows 7.

I tried to install with HP3055 PCL. But can printed only 10 page, it wass error --> to show Unsupported Personality: PCL;

Got the same just a while but was able to fix by following the advise of one of our bloggers.

I was able to install our HP laserjet 1010 on windows 7 by using hp laserjet 3050 driver on

DOT5 port.

Hi,

I have a HP Laser 1010 printer,

the printer was set up on my windows 7 laptop and was working fine.

Last night I let a friend use my laptop and the printer and now it wont work.

I have tried to delete the device from my computer and re load it using the solutions that the public have gave me on this forum.

the printer will install but when I go and print a test page, the page comes out with 'Unsupported Personality: PLC' at the top and the rest of the page is blank.

Can somebody please give me a solution for this as I use my computer a lot for work.
