direct PDF printing v 1.4 on a P3005 printer

If I use LPR to send a PDF file to my networked LaserJet P3005, I get the following message:

PDF file not printed. 128 mb of memory is required to enable direct PDF printing.

The printer has 80mb of memory. Would adding additional memory allow me to print the PDF document?
