RS232 db25 output to USB 2.0 printer port

I have a HP 6L Laserjet connected to a processing tool (not a PC). The print output from the tool is RS232 db25. I use a ATEN XSP-325A RS232-Parallel Converter to switch to Centronix connection on the 6L.

I want to upgrade to a new HP Laserjet, but these all have USB 2.0 ports on them. What can I use to convert the RS232 db25 to the USB input of the printer?

There are still new HP printers with parallel port. It is just not low end model. If I were you, I'd check out the good old HP LJ 4000, 4100, etc. They are good old reliable and very price.

Re: RS232 db25 output to USB 2.0 printer port

I have opted to go with an HP5650 Inkjet because this has the Centronix connection, has a small foot print (the more expensive models with Centronix ports are too big), and I can pull it from our Stock room.

While this printer has a color cartridge (which will not be used since the tool only sends output for black and white) it's the best alternative to a Laserjet right now.

fyi and thanks, Ken
