I have a new HP ML150 G6 server but it does not have a parallel port and I can not insert a card because it does not have a parallel supported slot. I have an HP LaserJet 2100 with a parallel cable. Wonder if it's possible to use Parallel to USB adapter for the printer? If so, what do I lose by doing so?

You do not lose anything, but sometimes making it work consistently can be a problem. A better solution would be to insert a EIO jetdirect card into the eio slot of the printer and then connect the printer to your lan. You can purchase EIO cards (jetdirect 600N, 610N) on ebay for a very low price.
