PPD files for HP printer

Hallo everyone,
does anybody know a reliable source for PPD files? On the site of HP I didn't find any. Currently I need one for HP Laserjet 5000N. I downloaded one for HP Laserjet 5000 Series from linuxprinting.org but it doesn't work. In future I will need PPD files for HP Color Laserjet 5550 N and HP Laserjet 9050 N.
I need the PPD files for printing out Oracle Reports.

Re: PPD files for HP printer

Ullrich,

Can you try the attached PPD for the LJ5000 and let me know if this works. Its from the CUPS distribution - I'm not sure if its the same as the one from linuxprinting.org

Re: PPD files for HP printer

Hallo Ken,
many thanks for providing this file. It's different from the file from linuxprinting.org but it doesn't work either.
However, could you be so kind and provide me the PPD files for the other printers I mentioned? May be they work better. These printers are for our customers's configuration and therefore much more important than the LJ 5000.

Re: PPD files for HP printer

And heres the 5550 PPD file

When you say the files don't work, in what way?

Re: PPD files for HP printer

Hallo Ken,
many thanks for the new PPD files. Currently I cannot test them because the printers are installed on the customer's site.
The PPD file for the LJ 5000 doesn't work means, that the printer doesn't print the document, i. e. the report. The printer prints an additional header containing user, host etc. This page is printed out but not the report. Oracle Reports provides a default.ppd file that should work with all printers. When I use this file, printing works fine. Thus the printing process in general seems to work but the printer specific PPD files do not.

Re: PPD files for HP printer

If its not breaking any rules, could you attach a copy of the Oracle default.ppd here so I can compare the files.
