2. LaserJet 3055
And inf there is, please inform me when will it be possible for me to download it, thanks
P.S. all the printers we have in my company are either one of the two above models, without the full software I will not be able to upgrade to Windows 7 at all.

apparently there is no driver that works for VISTA or WINDOWS 7. tried the 3 universal drivers and none work.
you would think someone at HP would pull thier head out of their rear and either come up with a fix or offer a special purchase deal

That's really disappointing facing the fact that Win7 has been largely available as beta and RC before its final release, I cannot understand what can take so long to port the working 64bit Vista drivers to Win7... I even can run the Vista 64bit drivers in Win7 RC, but it was a bit tricky to get around the installation process.

I managed to get printing working on the 3055 after MUCH frustration. Turns out it was not that difficult (took 5 minutes). I just went to Start / Devices and Printers and Added a printer. I selected Network printer, and after scanning the network it found my printer and installed the PCL5 universal printer driver built in to Win 7. I know someone on another post got PCL6 working (I have PCL5), but I can live with that.
My problem now is I cannot find drivers for scanning and faxing. My LaserJet 3055 AIO worked fine under Win XP. For scanner and fax to work I believe you need to install the Full Solution software which only works with Windows XP. I do not see anything for Vista or 7. This is very frustrating. If I do not get it working soon, I have to junk the AIO (paid $500 a year or two ago).
I also have a G4050 which is supposed to have a Windows 7 driver. If I can get that working, then I guess I will have scanning ability and my 3055 will just be an extra-heavy printer. But no fax.
My big QUESTION is, will there be a Full Solution in the near future or should I dump the 3055 and get something else?

Copy the Vista 64 bit driver setup file from the support page to your hard drive. Open Windows command prompt as administrator, then manually navigate to where you downloaded the setup file and run the file. You should get through the installation process without encountering that error about running as administrator.
I scanned the windows 7 software box to test that it worked.
Hope it works for you. Let me know!
Cheers

Someone else mentioned in another question they spoke with an HP rep and there is a Full Solution being developed for Windows 7, but no release date.
now that I have printing working over the network (90% of my use), and I can get scan by plugging in the USB cable (9% of my use), I can wait. For fax I may just get a fax service.

Before you do that, can you tell me (us) what you did exactly? I do not have a Vista 64-bit setup file. All I have for the 3055 is the Full Solution for Windows XP. I tried some other compatibility recommendations and none worked for me.
Interestingly, I checked for newer printer AIOs and many of the HP ones (e.g. Inkjet Pro 8500), still do not support Windows 7, at least not according to the box. And I do not trust any other claims. If I have to get a new AIO, I doubt it will be HP, even after 20 years of buying HP printers.
I am sure others here would want to know.
Thanks,
tk

We have about 10 MFU 3052, 3055, 1522n and as people get new machines with Windows 7 they can only print on it but cannot use any other function like fax or more importantly SCAN thatâ s why itâ s called MFU and not just printer, thatâ s why it cost so much more than regular printer
Software was crap for these devices from the beginning but now you cannot use even that
How stupid person must feel when you bought new HP notebook with Windows 7 and find out that you cannot use your MFU that is still under warranty.

Anyone heard anything about the 3055?
This is beyond frustrating and I never expected this from HP.
At least I am encouraged that they did something for the 1522 and I can only hope that work is in progress for a full SW solution for the 3055.

for M1522nf, installed the full software package in the drivers section of the printer.
for the the 3055, used the latest version of full software packahe for windows vista, installed on windows 7 with compatibility mode option se to Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
Still facing some problems with Windows 7 64 bit though

I have bought HP printers, AIO, scanners, and desktops since the late 1980s as they were the best products on the market. I would not even look at others.
A colleague of mine has 2 Brother AIO's bought at the same time and both have Win 7 drivers. I remember when he bought them trying to convince him to get HP.

Ahmed,
To the best of my knowledge, there is no 64-bit driver for Vista for the HP 3055 AIO (the one I have), so that approach is not possible.
Basically, I am still using this as a plain old PCL5 network printer using the UPD. Very disappointing. I will be eventually replacing it with a colour inkjet or maybe colour laser AIO. I will likely buy something cheap so that if I need to ditch it i will feel no pain.
FYI - The candidates for a replacement are a colour laser from Brother (colour laser prices have come down), an Inkjet from Canon (I forget the model number), and the HP 6500 AIO inkjet (yes it's HP, but I am considering it only because it's on sale for $139 at Costco and it has a low cost per page). I have never tried a Canon, but now might be the time. My brother has been very happy with Brother and they had Win 7 64-bit printer drivers within a month of the release of Win 7.
The biggest feature I need (besides printing) is the scan to pdf over the network, as well as print obviously; something I cannot achieve with my 3055 now and it looks like I never will. I doubt HP is working on any more Win 7 drivers now ... at least not for the 3055 AIO. So the best way to do this is a cheap colour inkjet AIO.

I have the M1522nf with Vista 32-bit and it has worked fine for the last 14 months. I scan a lot to pdf, more than printing.
Last week I started to get error message, "HP Toolbox FX has encountered an error & can not recover. Please re-start HP Toolbox FX, or re-start your PC.." This would solve problem for a few hours before reoccuring, now this does not work.
I uninstalled all the HP stuff off my PC and downloaded the 'Windows Full Solution AP - version 4.0' from the HP website - this has made no difference. The printer is locked in it set-up mode.
I'm not sure what to try next - please does anyone have a suggestion?
Many thanks

I notice that Josh has found a solution to the 3055 scanning problem. Josh or someone please post the URl for the downlink for Vista 64 full software for 3055. Thanks

Has anyone been able to get the 1522nf printer to work with Windows 7 - 64 bit operating system? I just upgraded my machine to that operating system, and the printer still seems to work only with the Windows 7 - 32 bit operating system.
